Holland Shipyards Group and GNL Italia S.p.A. (Snam Group), are actively engaged in the construction of a fully electric double-ended Ro-Ro vessel.
The vessel, measuring 50.2 m overall by 13.89 m, is in the completion phase and is destined to operate a dedicated route between the Panigaglia LNG terminal and the port of La Spezia. Designed as a modern battery-powered shuttle ferry, it is intended for traffic in the protected waters of La Spezia, Italy. The vessel is equipped to carry four specific LNG trucks and is constructed to Rina Class standards for coastal areas. Propulsion is provided by two 300 kW L drive thrusters, powered by more than 1 MWh battery pack.
Over the past years, Holland Shipyards Group has realized more than 40 green new builds. This project joins that list, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to a greener maritime industry.
Snam subsidiary GNL Italia shares this dedication to a greener tomorrow. We are proud to partner with a client whose values and aspirations align with ours.
